HTTPSSVC is a new DNS resource record that contains an extensible key-value map. With HTTPSSVC, clients can obtain pre-connection information efficiently, with just one additional DNS query.
Motivation
HTTPSSVC is a new DNS resource record, proposed in draft-ietf-dnsop-svcb-httpssvc. Essentially, it is a serialized key-value map containing information that a client needs in order to efficiently establish an HTTPS connection. Use of HTTPSSVC will improve Chromium’s privacy and performance when establishing connections.
