Searchable Invisible DOM (deprecated)

Note: The Searchable Invisible DOM proposal has merged with Display Locking (, and we are no longer pursuing Searchable Invisible DOM. Old proposal: create some new way of exposing DOM to the browser, that is still searchable, but is invisible. That is all things that work only if the content is in the DOM (like Find-in-page, fragment URL navigation, a11y, tabindex) should work, but we don’t need to pay for the cost of styling, layouting, etc.
